Sweet Taste Diabetes Research Our aim is to investigate the way sugars enter the blood (from our food), and whether these uptake pathways in the gut can be targeted in new ways to better control blood sugar. Our group has the following clinical studies underway, involving type 2 diabetic volunteers. Study 1: Investigating a novel therapy to slow glucose entry into the blood, leading to improved control of blood glucose. Study 2: Investigating whether diet supplementation with a combination of artificial sweeteners, affects blood glucose control. We are currently recruiting volunteers who fit the following criteria:
To volunteer you must be willing to attend our clinic at SAHMRI and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. While your study participation is voluntary, we will reimburse you for your time spent within the clinic. If you’d like to be involved in our research studies, it’s as simple as phoning or emailing us to register your interest. You will be required to attend our clinic for an appointment to chat about the study and take a small blood sample to check your overall health. |
The Nutrition and Metabolism group is currently investigating the effects of modified meal patterns on body weight and health. To volunteer you must be willing to attend our clinic at SAHMRI.
